"I purchased my first camera in 1976. I have never run out of new things to do and learn with photography. Teaching it has given me a career. For me as a developing artist in the 1980’s and 90’s, straight photography, although a big part of my visual exploration, did not fulfill my needs as an artist. In 1984, when I took my first printmaking class, the tumblers in my head fell into place and opened a personal mode of expression using photography with printmaking: intaglio, relief and screen printing. My transition from analog to digital photography in the 2000’s and 2010’s and the continuous evolution of Adobe Photoshop and the printing industry, all helped define my evolution as an artist." -Bill Thompson
